On growing up in Rajasthan, thirty years in engineering, and why I built a charcoal-free dhoop brand.
For thirty years, my world was engineering — building systems, leading teams, and learning one lesson over and over again: true craftsmanship begins with customer obsession. You design around the person, not the product. You care about how something feels, not just how it works.
SattvaRoma is that same instinct, turned toward something quieter and more personal.
Growing up in Rajasthan, fragrance was part of everyday life — the morning dhoop, the evening aarti, the soft scent that lingered in courtyards long after the flame went out. Those rituals shaped how we breathed, how we paused, how we returned to ourselves. But somewhere along the way, the purity of those traditions faded. Most incense today is bound with charcoal, dipped in synthetic fragrance, and burned without a second thought.
We’re careful about what we eat, what we watch, what we listen to — yet we rarely think about what we breathe.
SattvaRoma was born from that gap. Our dhoop is charcoal-free, bamboo-less, and crafted from pure botanical ingredients in Jaipur. No burn is entirely without smoke — and we won’t pretend otherwise — but removing the charcoal and synthetic binders is a meaningful step toward a cleaner ritual, not just a calmer-smelling one. See what actually changes when the charcoal comes out.
Every fragrance we create is rooted in intention: to ground, to soothe, to uplift, to bring a moment of stillness back into a busy home — from the earthy Roots Trio to the floral Bloom Trio. And every product we design carries the hope that a small ritual can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day.
Where we go next depends on you — your breath, your space, your rituals. Thank you for being here at the beginning.
